Degustation notes

A dense, dark hue with an expressive bouquet, roasted aromas, hints of black berries, raspberries and violets, corpulent and round on the palate, complex aromas, a magnificent structure, ripe, impressive tannins (an incomplete evolution) in a long finish.

Special notes

Owner: Domaines de Rothschild. In 1975, Eric de Rothschild took over his uncle Elijah's heritage. The vineyard area is 98.8 hectares, with vines of an average age of 38 years. Fermented 20 months in new barrels. Second wine - Carruades Lafite. One third of the harvest is normally reserved for the Lafite, 40% for the Carruades and the rest is sold as simple Pauillac.
