A nose of ripe red and black fruit, mixed with a slight hint of roasted. Ample in the mouth, corpulent, harmonious, very fruity with chaste, elegant tannins. A soft, flattering wine that is very enjoyable, even in its youth.

Special notes

Quality has increased steadily since 1998. Certain value. Owner: Eric Albada-Jelgersina. As its name suggests, the Chateau du Tertre and its 50 hectares of vines enjoy an outstanding location on the highest ridge of the Margaux AOC appellation, in the commune of Arsac. Philippe Casqueton (Château Calon-Ségur) took over the domain in 1961 and gradually restored the vineyard and its production buildings. In 1998, the Chateau came into the hands of the current owner, who also owns the neighbouring Château Giscours. The second wine is called Les Hauts du Tertre.
