Special notes

With his experience and success, Josef Michel acquired the firm conviction that with an informed cultivation of the Kaiserstuhl vineyards, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris, Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grape varieties could produce excellent quality wines thanks to the climate and soil quality. Throughout the years, the Michel winery bought up many of the vines near the Kaiserstuhl like, among others, Achkarrer Schlossberg, Achkarrer Castellberg, Ihringer Winklerberg and Munzinger Kapellenberg. His vineyards now cover about 14 hectares in total and are as varied as his wines. Michel's Achkarren winery is now considered as producing one of the best Pinot in the Baden area.
