Very dark purple-red colour typical of this varietal, very present fruity aromas, interesting with dominant barrel notes, bright berry notes, homogeneous on the palate, lots of sweet fruitiness at the beginning and supple, good aromatic intensity, harmonious, elegant and aromatic into the finish.
Regent - interspecific red wine. A new crossing of Diana and Chambourcin, created at the Institut für Rebenzüchtung of Geilweilerhof in Siebeldingen in southern Palatinate. Highly resistant to fungal diseases. - Cooperative winemakers of Auggen. 400 wine growers cultivate 280 hectares of vineyards according to ecological guidelines. Schaf and Letten are known wine-growing regions. Covering anarea of 180 hectares, Schaf named after its white lime soil, first produces a fresh Gutedel and then a fruity Müller-Thurgau. The Regent is represented in this area on a surface of 25 hectares, making Auggen the largest producer of this type of wine in Germany. In Letten, steep south facing terrain with heavy fertile soil, has generous vineyards that thrive with Gewürztraminer, Chardonnay andGrauburgunder, producing round, voluminous wines.
