Dark purple colour, a nose with intense, spricy notes of ripe stewed berries and black cherries, wrapped in notes of toasted and aromas of dark chocolate, refined and pleasant on the attack, with good tannins and a nice homogeneous acid structure, noticeably matured in french barrels, then strong and fresh, with the presence of good tannins, soft and long at the finish.
The center of the Faugères vineyard is located at about 30 km north of the town of Béziers. The massive Black Mountains unfold likea wall of slate. Yields are not very high, but very concentrated, which gives the wine its finesse. Thierry Rodriguez has only 7 hectares of the best vines planted on Faugères' steep slopes. The grapes are sorted at Mas Gabinèle with such care that many remain intact. They then ferment in a carbonic acid mixture. 15 months of ageing in new barrels and very respectful manufacturing preserves the quality of the tannins and produces sublime quality wines.
