Degustation notes

Dense purple colour, evident barrel notes, a toasted bouquet with licorice and noble wood aromas, reminiscent of resin, pronounced woody notes on the palate, powerful, well rounded fruitiness and noticeablely delicate tannins. A magnificent wine that is full of character; ideal with a meal.

Special notes

This wine is produced at the heart of the Roero domain, from Nebbiolo grapes, the fruit of vines that were planted more than 30 years ago, with characteristically poor performance. The combined fermentation of grapes from different vineyards that ripen at different times produces a wine with good structure and a well balanced bouquet. The vinification takes place in the traditional way: 20 days in contact with the grape skin, a cooking temperature of approximately 30° C and ageing for 15 months in small wooden barrels.
