Degustation notes

Intense red-purple with hints of violet, slight woodiness, with aromas of leather, a touch of vanilla and ripe black berries. A light violet taste, fruity sweetness on the attack, a fullness of very ripe berries and a slight hint of licorice. Medium-bodied, with perceptible tannins into the finish. Accompanies good food.

Special notes

The Ricasoli family is one of the most famous noble Tuscan families. They own the Castello di Brolio, one of the oldest wineries inthe world and have been producing wine since 1141. Francesco Ricasoli has managed the winery since the early 90's. Located in the commune of Gaiole and covers 1200 hectares of which 230 hectares are vines. 150 hectares are planted with Sangiovese and the rest with Cabernet Sauvignon, Canaiolo Nero, Chardonnay, Malvasia del Chianti and Merlot.
