Degustation notes

Intense garnet colour, a strong aromatic presence in a surge of berries and black fruit, punctuated with dark chocolate aromas, hints of spicy wood (barrel aged for 12 months), some earthy aromas with notes of moss, evident tannins and slightly peppery, nice substance; still a bit young and somewhat hard.

Special notes

Aged for 12 months in oak barrels, the La Madonnina domain was purchased in 1969 by the Triacca brothers. But the first harvest wasonly collected in 1975. All restoration work was completed in 1979. Since the acquisition of adjacent land in 1987 and 1990, the area now includes over 400 hectares of olive groves, forests, fields and meadows. The vineyards occupy 100 hectares, mainly Sangiovese(90%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (8%). - With the Mandorlo II, it's clear that the Cabernet feels right at home, especially when it is associated with the native Sangiovese grape.
