Special notes

More than a century has passed since two adventurous spirits from Piedmont began to clear the land on which extends 550 hectares ofSella & Mosca vines. An enchanting landscape, promising soil and the meeting of two Piedmont personalities attracted to this absolutely pristine environment : Sella the engineer - grandson of the famous statesman Quintino Sella and Mosca, the lawyer. These are the roots of the business, that at the beginning of the last century, transformed pastures into fertile vineyard, laying the cornerstone of the most impressive wine production on the island. A respect for the land and wine cultivation, passionate loyalty to the soiland its traditions, these are the principles that are transfered by the founders and that, at Sella & Mosca, still inspire any activity at the winery and those who are responsible for its success. Today, Sella & Mosca, with Capichera, the Cantina di Santadi and Argiolas represent the best in Sardinian winemaking. For more than 500 years, the Garnacha grape variety was already popular in Spainand was brought over to the Italian island by conquerors. In Sardinia, the grape was given a new name: Cannonau. The grape variety is one of the major specialties at Sella & Mosca.
