Very dark ruby red colour, a nose of vanilla and smoky notes of barrel, lush ripe fruit - blackberry, plum - but also earthy aromas, juicy and supple on the palate, elegant tannins, a well structured, full-bodied wine.
The Bolturina Winery is located in the Secastilla Valley, in northeastern Somontano. A Mediterranean microclimate prevails in the region, with particularly favourable conditions for vine, olive and almond cultivation. Our grapes come from very old Garnacha vines (the traditional grape in the Secastilla Valley) grow on rocky slopes of more than 700 meters in altitude: a non-irrigated area withsandy, loamy soil. Ideal altitude and orientation offer the grapes many hours of sunshine, thus promoting their maturation. The grape clusters used to produce Bolturina 2006 were hand picked when fully ripe at the end of September. The fermentation was carried out for 8 days at a temperature of 25-28 °C, followed by the maceration process, which can last up to 20 days followed by malolactic fermentation. The wine was then aged for ten months in Allier French oak barrels and lightly filtered before bottling.
