Degustation notes

A very charming wine with a bouquet that evokes peach, apricot and white flowers, accented with fine notes of botrytis. Combining freshness and finesse in the mouth while expressing a nice touch of acidity, with similar aromas already perceived in the nose to which is added a touch of citrus. A pleasant, lengthy finish.

Special notes

Aged in oak barrels for one year. 20% of the barrels are renewed regularly. The Sauternes domain is located in a hilly landscape southeast of Bordeaux, near the Garonne. The vineyard is planted with Sémillon and Sauvignon that are typical for this area. The vines are carefully cherished and cultivated each year until the grape has noble rot, a fungus called Botrytis cinerea. As the fungus does not spread uniformly, the harvest must take place several times. Rayne Vigneau belongs to Mestrezat that has produced excellent Sauternes since the early 70's. The history of the area dates back to the 17th century. It bore the name of its owner at the time, "Chateau Vigneau."" It received its current name in 1892. The Château Rayne Vigneau has 79 hectares.
