- 500 g brown bread, cut into 12 slices

- 100 g sugar
- 2 tbsp clarified butter
- 2 tsp cinnamon

Preparation
Beat the eggs, milk, vanilla sugar and salt in a bowl. Dip the bread in the egg mixture in batches. -
To fry the bread
Heat the clarified butter in a non-stick frying pan. Reduce the heat, fry the bread in batches for approx. 2 mins. on each side until golden brown. Mix the sugar and cinnamon in a dish, dip the warm toast in the sugary mixture and serve immediately. -
Serve with:
Apple sauce or stewed pears or plums.
