  • Sauce
  • 1 tbsp clarified butter
  • 500 g minced meat (beef)
  • 0.5 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp oregano, finely chopped
  • 2 tbsp basil, finely chopped
  • 1 onions, finely chopped
  • 2 tsp salt
  • a little pepper
  • 3 tins peeled tomatoes (approx. 240g each, mashed)
  • 2 tsp sugar
  • Pappardelle noodles
  • 400 g pasta (e. g. Papardelle noodles)
  • a little Parmesan, grated
  • salted water, boiling

  • Sauce

    Heat the butter in a cooking pot. Fry the mince in batches for approx. 5 mins. Reduce the heat, add the onion, garlic powder, basil and oregano, sauté for approx. 3 mins., season. Add the tomatoes and sugar, bring to the boil. Reduce the heat, cover and braise on a low heat for approx. 1 hr.
  • Pappardelle noodles

    Cook the pasta in salted water until al dente, then drain and mix with the sauce. Serve with parmesan.
