  • To poach the pears
  • 2.5 dl white wine
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 2 pear (e.g. Alexander), peeled, halved, core removed
  • 1 tsp gingerbread spice
  • To serve
  • 1 tbsp cranberry jam

  • To poach the pears

    Bring the wine to the boil in a pan along with the sugar and gingerbread spice. Add the pears, simmer over a low heat for approx. 5 mins., turning the pears once. Leave the pears to cool in the liquid.
  • To serve

    Remove the pears from the poaching liquid, serve with cranberry jam. Drizzle a little of the liquid over the top.
  • Tip:

    Instead of white wine, use red wine or rosé.
