  • Dough
  • 450 g white flour
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 50 g sugar
  • 1 bag dry yeast (ca. 7 g)
  • 50 g butter, weich, in Stücken
  • 200 ml full-fat milk
  • 1 eggs, whisked
  • 0.5 dl Water
  • 150 g chocolate, z.B weisse-, dunkle- oder Milchschokolade, in Würfeli

  • 2 tbsp. white flour
  • 2 tbsp. Water

  • Dough

    In a bowl, mix the flour with all the other ingredients up to and including the yeast. Add the butter, milk, water and egg. Using the dough hook on a food processor, knead for approx. 10 mins. on a low setting to form a soft, smooth dough. Knead the chocolate chunks into the dough. Cover and leave to rise at room temperature for approx. 1 1/2 hrs. until doubled in size.
  • Shaping

    Divide the dough into 16 portions, shape into balls. Arrange the dough balls in a square on a tray lined with baking paper. Cover and leave to rise for approx. 30 mins. Combine the flour and water to form a paste, transfer to a disposable piping bag. Cut off the tip, pipe crosses onto the buns.
  • Bake

    Bake for approx. 20 mins. in the lower half of an oven preheated to 190°C. Remove from the oven, glaze the hot buns with honey, leave to cool on a cooling rack.
