Dark ruby colour, aromas of ripe berries on the nose, elderberry, cherrymarmalade, full and supple on the palate with lots of creamy tannins, plenty of juicy fruit, fresh and round with a long finish.
Valpolicella, located west of the Italian region of Veneto, is one of the most famous red wine production zones in the country, along with the Chianti area. This wine is, most offen, a blend of Corvina Veronese, Rondinella and Molinara grapes. The Ripasso (literally "pressed"") is a process that requires special attention: the red wine marc (the dried grape skins) from the fall's fermentation, is added to the red wine that has been fermenting since the beginning of the year. This process takes 15 days to complete.
