Degustation notes
Dense garnet colour, an intense bouquet of ripe berries and plums that recalls Rumtopf, a nuance of leather and raisins, well balanced on the palate with a nice concentration of fruit, perfect balance, rich in extracts with a lot of character, well integrated structure, delicate, lovely tannins with magnificent length.
Special notes
Greppone Mazzi is the domain where Ruffino produces its Brunello di Montalcino wine. Located in the western part of Montalcino, inthe center of Brunello's historical production. Planted at an altitude of 450-500 meters, the vines benefit from the advantages of the hilly terrain that the DOCG Brunello di Montalcino appellation offers. The Tenuta Greppone Mazzi extends over an area of 120 hectares. The winery is also home to some very old olive trees and grain fields. Brunello di Montalcino is one of the most sought afterItalian red wines on the international market. It is vinified from a particular variety of Sangiovese grape called "Sangiovese Grosso" or Brunello. This wine is on the market no earlier than January 1st of the sixth year after its harvest and must be aged in oak barrels for at least two years before being refined in bottles for a minimum of four months.

from Maokai on (Rated vintage: 2007) 5.0Top Wein zu hohem Preis - sehr guter Wein.
