Degustation notes

Brilliant crimson colour with a tempting nose of violets, ripe red berries and a hint of cloves. Fresh and fruity on the palette with a lively structure, noticeable oak flavour and youthful tannins. A medium-bodied Chianti Classico with nice complexity.

Special notes

The La Madonnina vineyard was purchased by Fratelli Triacca in 1969. But the first grape harvest didn't happen until 1975. All restoration work was completed in 1979. Since the acquisition of adjacent land in 1987 and 1990, the area now covers a surface of 400 hectares of olive groves, forests, fields and meadows. The vineyards occupy 100 hectares planted with mainly Sangiovese (90%), Cabernet Sauvignon (8%) and Merlot (2%). - The more mature grapes from La Madonnina are kept in oak barrels for 2 years to become a typicalRiserva.
