Wine information

M. Chapoutier

Goes well with

Rib of beef, roast lamb, oven-roasted vegetables

Degustation notes

Intense ruby. Scented nose of wild herbs, essential oils, floral notes and undergrowth. Elegantly grained, ultra-fine tannins on the palate, with tremendous freshness. This Syrah is reminiscent of a Côte-Rôtie and has only just started to reach maturity.

Robert Parker - 95

Special notes

This wine is excluded from all promotions.

In 1990, Michel Chapoutier was just 24 when he became owner of this traditional family company which was established in 1808. Chapoutier wines – if not the Chapoutier brand itself – felt a little outdated at the time. In the space of a few years, the young winemaker completely revamped the estate, adopted environmentally friendly growing practices and biodynamic principles, improved the quality of the wines in record time, created new blends, purchased additional vineyard sites (not just in the south of France, but in other locations such as Alsace, Portugal and Australia), introduced braille on his bottle labels, founded his own wine school, and achieved more besides.
