Special notes

For Kevin Judd, winemaker of the cult wine Cloudy Bay, Greywacke is the fulfilment of his dream of his own wine. For the Sauvignon Blanc grape variety, soil with river pebbles is deemed particularly suitable and the latter are found everywhere in the estate’s soil. The quality-oriented wine-growing company looks for grapes from mature vineyards in the midst of the Wairau prairie and the southern valleys. The wines are produced by Kevin at the Dog Point Winery in the lower-lying Brancott valley.
