Degustation notes

Bright red with a dense black core, the aroma is abundant with Christmas cake and mulberries. The palate is quintessential for what Black Queen Sparkling Shiraz is known for - naturally low in tannins, soft and abundant in rich blue fruits.

Special notes

The people in the area call him the Baron of Barossa-Valley. And for the wine magazine Decanter, he is nothing less than the living legend of Australian wine. He is Peter Lehmann, son of a Lutheran pastor. He will be 75 this year. Five generations ofhis family have lived in this region of Australia. But he was the first to enter the wine trade, and that, at 17 years of age. For 13 years he worked at Yalumba, then became winemaker in-chief and director of Saltram Wines. Under his leadership, the quantity of grapes processed by Saltram went from 400 to over 6000 tons per year. Lehmann convinced the independent winegrowers and won their trust, with his wine. And this he did not want to destroy when 27 years ago, the owners of the company instructed him to buy less grapes for economic reasons.
