Finca Antigua

Goes well with

Aromatic dishes with fish and seafood, paella, fine Spanish cold cuts

Degustation notes

Light lemon yellow, multi-faceted bouquet reminiscent of white peach and pear, plus jasmine, fennel seeds and camomile, fresh and fruity on the palate with attractive herbal notes and a juicy finish.

Special notes

The Bujanda family found the Finca Antigua, situated on the Cuenca plateau at an altitude of 900 metres and thus at the edge of the wine-growing region, in early 1998. The vineyard, measuring 421 hectares, is part of the 1000-hectare estate and features the domestic varieties Tempranillo and Garnacha (Grenache). Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah and Petit Verdot also flourish in the loamy, limestone-rich soil. What is unusual here is that each plot is dedicated to a different wine, guaranteeing a unique and unmistakable taste. All the wines are vegan and produced from the estate's own grapes. The Crianza is matured for 15 months, and the single-grape reds, depending on the vintage quality, are matured for between 3 and 8 months in French and American wood. Although the cellar uses the latest technology, the utmost in artisanal care is used in preparing the wines. The cellar is a perfect example of avant-garde and efficient architecture: steel, stone and cement were used to build the spectacular building, comprising three box-shaped components, that is surrounded by a contrasting irrigation basin.
